KEVIN SMITH RETURNS TO BATMAN IN WIDENING GYRE

Wednesday, August 26, 2009 - Thomas

Batman: Widening Gyre #1 (of 12)

Batman: Widening Gyre #1 (of 12); Written by Kevin Smith; Art by Walter Flanagan

Kevin Smith (the man behind Clerks and Mallrats) returns to the DC Universe to follow up Batman: Cacophony. Teaming up with artist and long time friend Walter Flanagan (War of the Undead & Batman: Cachophony), the duo have alot in store for The Dark Knight in this 12 part mini-series separated into 6 part arcs with Book 1 ending in January 2010 and Book 2 (featuring "a new DC-Universe hero") kicking off in August 2010. This series finds Batman teaming up with a new vigilante in an all new action-adventure story which Smith quotes is "the best that I could do."

Once again, Kevin Smith – the fan-favorite creator behind GREEN ARROW and Daredevil – teams up with Walter Flanagan – the artist on the acclaimed series BATMAN: CACOPHONY – for an all-new adventure starring The Caped Crusader. The stakes are high as Batman encounters a new vigilante under his wing amidst what Smith describes as a "backdrop of romance, intrigue, and geek-bait guest stars galore." Trust us when we say that it's as awesome as it sounds. BATMAN: WIDENING GYRE is just the start of things for Kevin in the Bat-Universe so get on board now!
