Ghostbusters: The Other Side #1 (of 4)

Ghostbusters: The Other Side #1 (of 4) - IDW PUBLISHING

When there's something strange in your neighbourhood, who you going to call... ? GHOSTBUSTERS!!! The four dudes in overalls and proton packs are finally back and they look to take it to the streets. Look out for the undead ghosts of former mobsters, from  the likes of  Bugsy Seigal and Al Capone to give the Ghostbusters a run for their money.

Ghostbusters: The Other Side mini-seires takes place after the first two movies. Expect screwball comdey and fantasy-horror. IDW Publishing have gotten the license for Ghostbusters, so expect there to be more busting-of-ghosts after the four-part series is completed.

Egon Spengler! Ray Stantz! Winston Zeddemore! Peter Venkman! The original Ghostbusters return in an all-new, four-part Ghostbusters story from IDW! Writer Keith Champagne (Green Lantern Corp, The Flash) is joined by artist Tom Nguyen in this new Ghostbusters saga. When the Ghostbusters capture a group of ghostly crooks, they unknowingly run afoul of a gang comprised of the spirits of some of America’s most legendary gangsters. Dead or alive, the mafia knows exactly how to deal with a problem like the Ghostbusters: rub ‘em out!

Other comics out this week

John Carpenter's Halloween celebrates thirty years of horror. After the success of Halloween: Nightdance, Devil's Due Publishing continue with Halloween: The First Death of Laurie Strode, a three-part mini-series that fills-in the gap between Halloween 2 and Hallowen: H20. Laurie and Dr Loomis have their hands full as Mike Myers still lurks in the shadows, when everybodies seems to think that he is dead. Story by Stef Hutchinson and Jeff Zornow.

Trade of the week - IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN VOL. 1: LOW-LIFE

Introducing the world’s worst super hero! When a low-level S.H.I.E.L.D. agent gets a hold of Hank Pym’s new Ant-Man suit, you know the Marvel Universe is in trouble. He’s not concerned with saving the world or helping others. He’s concerned with getting through the day and getting a leg up on life. He’s not going to use his powers responsibly, he’s going to use them for the betterment of himself. He’s Ant-Man, a new “hero” for the modern world.

From the writer that brought you Marvel Zombies and Astounding Wolf-man - Robert Kirkman, featuring art by Phi Hester and Ande Parks.  Arguably the best thing that Kirkman has written for Marvel.

Collecting IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN #1-6, digest format.
