Keeping an Ion the prize

Ion #1 (of 12)

Ion #1 (of 12); written by Ron Marz, art by Greg Tocchini, cover by Ivan Reis

Test pilot Hal Jordan was Green Lantern. Then the Green Lantern Corps were destroyed. Thanks due in part to Jordan who went balls crazy and ended up as Parallax. Freelance artist Kyle Rayner was then chosen as the Green Lantern. Then Jordan came back and Rayner was kicked off his post and became a Green Lantern on the space part of Earth. And along the way the GLC came back... Get the gist so far?

Following the events of INFINITE CRISIS and the RANN/THANAGAR WAR SPECIAL, writer Ron Marz (GREEN LANTERN) returns to the character he created, giving Kyle Rayner an entirely new lease on life in a new ongoing series with art by rising star Greg Tocchini (1602: New World, Thor: Son of Asgard)!

A distraught Kyle Rayner has emerged one year later, transformed with abilities that may surpass those of any Green Lantern ever. So beware his power... because his might may not be on the side of right.

With that on the way, the cosmic wonderlings just don't stop.

Marvel release the Kree judge in the Annihilation wave with Annihilation: Ronan. Stripped of his standing and out to clear his name, the judge is looking to get his robes back as part of the Kree ranks.

Slave Labor Graphics and Disney bring back the MCP as Jet Bradley takes over from where his dad left off in the world of Tron: The Ghost In the Machine. Something in the computer world wants Bradley back, and it isn't that kind of site.

Fantasy and super hero worlds mix it up in Wildstorm's Skye Runner. Not to mentioning the mix of guns and swords, and who doesn't like gun fights in the middle of sword play? (Collateral damage, that's who.)

Closing things out, Checkmate from DC Comics. Things might be running away a little from the grim and gritty in the aftermath of the Infinite Psychotic Crisis world of DC, but running around killing people is still the fastest way to see the body count jump.
