Superman must die vows Lex Luthor

Flying back into the realm of superheroes, Superman Returns today opens across the silver screens nationwide.

After an unexplained absence, Kal-El, the last son of Krypton, makes his way back to the Earth he has chosen to protect.

Hot on his case, the ever maniacal and ruthless, Lex Luthor. Seen here with what either appears to be a kryptonite dagger or cigar. Either way, getting it close to Superman will render him powerless and ill. It's Superman's only weakness and leaves the man of steel feeling like a sheet of aluminium foil.

During the filming of the movie, Kevin Spacey (as Luthor) was known to drive around on the lot with a Superman death buggy and shouting, "Superman must die!" Brandon Routh (Clark Kent), on first seeing this, was shocked and a little worried. After all, it's not every day you have Prot declaring he's out to kill you.

Will Superman be bested by Luthor once and for all in this... you're going to watch it any way, who's kidding who?
