Deep lunging at old and long-time Spider-Man fans, the alien symbiote Venom, has snapped back at claims his rumoured appearance in the next Spider-Man film is pandering to newer and more violence hungry fans. With director Sam Raimi still close-lipped about which of the rogues gallery will face down in the third installment of the film franchise, Venom's inclusion is anything but a lock.

Tearing up the street and leaving a smoking fog of dust, the one-time confidant of ex-Daily Bugle photographer Eddie Brock, was all in a rage. Venom's rage against the bitumen spurred by comments from a hardened fanboy denouncing the alien as nothing more than a brawn bag. "He's a joke compared to the others that have gone against Spidey in both mind and might," said the unnamed comic book fan.

Art Asylum's Eli Livingston and Ken Usanami were on hand to try and calm down Venom but were only relegated to touching up the scene of destruction in as they were taking notes in a Marvel milestone reconstruction.

Others lining up to show down against Spider-Man include The Lizard, using the technology left behind by Doctor Octopus; the Hobgoblin, using the weaponry of the Green Goblin and throwing away the character's comicbook continuity, or even a return of the green with a Green Goblin II.
