GHOST RIDER: DANNY KETCH #1 (of 5) - MARVEL COMICS
The moment has arrived for huge Ghost Rider fans! Danny Ketch, the former spirit of vengeance returns in his own five-part mini-series starting this week. Spilling out of the pages of the Ghost Rider the ongoing series (issue #28), Danny Ketch looks to mark his return with a blaze! Find out where he has been and why he is back. Be sure to see him face Johnny Blaze in this series and also in Ghost Rider #29 (Ghost Rider vs Ghost Rider: Round 1).
You’ve heard the news by now. He’s been away, he’s been down to rock bottom; but he’s back. Dan Ketch reborn: a stranger, darker figure. So what happened, Dannyboy? Where did it all go wrong? Tying-into Jason Aaron’s stunning take on the Ghost Rider mythos, artist Javier Saltares (Iron Man, Cat Woman) and writer Simon Spurrier (Gutsville, Silver Surfer) present a tormented fall into the deepest pits of the soul. Join us – via Technomancer babes, talking carrion-birds, battering-rams on bikes and the inescapable hunger for Vengeance – for a dark tale of Addiction - Parental Advisory.
And the winner is... Cyblade - last years winner's from Top Cow's "Pilot Season" initiative. This new ongoing series continues where the one-shot left off, where we see the deadly teenage assassin escape from the evil clutches of Cyberdata's control. What is the truth and what is a lie? that is up to Dominique (Cyblade) to try figure who she really is underneath all that angst. Story by Joshua Hale Fialkov & Rick Mays - Cyblade first appeared in Marc Silvestri's Cyberforce. Will appeal to fans who like Psylocke from the X-men.
Superman's world as we know it, changes in Superman New Krypton Special - The last son of Krypton has his hands full as he is no longer the last son of Krypton. We see a hundred thousand other Kryptonians land on Earth to claim it as the new Krypton. What will happen when we have a hundred thousand beings with the same powers as Superman flying around Earth? The special one-shot leads into a nine-part cross-over with Action Comics, Superman and Supergirl. Geoff Johns spear heads this Kryptonian invasion.
The Unknown Soldier is resurrected and updated by writer Joshua Dysart (Swamp Thing) with artist Alberto Ponticelli (Sam and Twitch). There is a new man underneath the bandaged mask and his name is Lwanga Moses. Moses has returned from the United States to his birth place in Uganda to be a doctor and peace activist. We find out in the first arc how Moses becomes the Unknown Soldier. This will appeal to fans of war stories.
Writer Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica, My Name Is Bruce) and illustrator John Bolton (God Save the Queen, Harlequin Valentine) present an exciting expansion on the classic horror film that introduced us to the powerful Book of the Dead, the relentlessly violent deadites, and Ash--one resilient, blood-soaked survivor. Now an iconic horror hero, relive Ash's first visit to the cabin that brought him face to face with the delectably deranged deadites who possessed his girlfriend and friends . . . and turned "the perfect place to get laid" into a house of fear and fury. Return to the original nonstop gore-fest and experience the thrills, gags, and gagging anew, with unexpected extra scenes.
as writer Mark Verheiden explains, "With permission from Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, we've expanded the movie, meeting our characters back in their pre-deadite lives and opening up the story to see what happened between the events seen on screen."
