Web of Spider-Man #1

Web of Spider-Man #1; Written by Tom DeFalco and Marc DeMatteis; Art by Ronald Frenz and Val Semeiks

Peter Parker's web becomes even more tangled in Web of Spider-Man. Exploring the stories that Marvel can't fit into the thrice monthly Amazing Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man is a new, ongoing monthly series focusing on the wall crawler's friends, family and enemies.

Each issue expands upon storylines currently running in The Amazing Spider-Man and also features the adventures of The Spectacular Spider-Girl and so much more!

Tying into upcoming events in Amazing Spider-Man including WHO IS BEN REILLY? and THE GAUNTLET! Even with all the action jam-packed into every issue of Thrice Monthly Spidey, we STILL don't have enough room to tell the wall-crawler's exploits! So BEHOLD! The brand-new, state of the art WEB OF SPIDER-MAN!

THRILL! To the return of KAINE, the ill-fated Peter Parker clone - where has he been all these years? Where is he now? And how does it tie into KRAVEN?! Then - MARVEL! At the continuing adventures of May-Day Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Girl! And More!

Other comics out this week

The Merc with a Mouth celebrates his 900th issue in an explosive 104 page special of Deadpool. Wait, has there really been nine-hundred issues? Who cares! This issue promises to thrill with a collection of octane-infused stories and adrenaline pumping action that sees C.S.I investigators try to work out why a mercenary would need battery cables, Crisco oil, three stacks of adult magazines and a live chicken to pull off a hit.

Detective Comics Annual #11 is here, picking off where Batman Annual #27 left off! What sense does an answer without a question make? A lock without a key? It is up to Renee Montoya and Batman to save Robin from Amon, the sixth sinner, and prevent the killer from uncovering a 2000 year old secret. Written by Fabian Nicieza (Azrael: Death's Dark Knight, Action Comics) and featuring art by Tom Mandrake (The Spectre, Grimjack).

Michael Turner's Soulfire returns with issue #1 of volume 2. Written by J.T. Krul (Fathom) and featuring art by Marcus To (Red Robin), this new chapter in the world of Soulfire carries on from where volume 1 left off. The quest to find the chosen one has ended, but the battle for the light is just beginning.

Trade of the week - Daredevil: Return of the King

Written by Ed Brubaker and featuring art by David Aja and Michael Lark, has hit the shelves of the Comic Shop.

Nearly two years ago, the Kingpin left America to try to build a new life and find a new purpose for himself. Is that new life now coming to the attention of old enemies?
