November 9, Oaks Day down in Melbourne following the supposed hang over to come from Melbourne Cup. Or some thing else to do with the flogging and running of horses around a track for the enjoyment of the humans. You won't get poker chips doing laps! And so every body finds a chance to gamble and sink their lives a little more as they watch the pre-glue selection process in work.
With the subtitle of
It's All Greek To You!,
Action Philosophers #7 from Evil Twin Comics. Another lesson in learning and this time, from the guess of it, it's about the Greek thinkers. A fun read, it distills and sifts through the tomes to serve a platter of small crackers that fit nicely under the eyelids.

Finally, with the creep into and over the date of
the infamous gunpowder plot, the V mask, as seen in
V for Vendetta, comes off.
Timely too given the encroaching footsteps of summer. Who knows how long it's really possible to breathe through the ears in order to keep the heated air at the front of the face relatively cool.
Thanks again to the contacts at the British Frieght Company and Roadshow Films for the masks in the first place.

From time to time people are interested in seeing what the Comic Shop has in its coffers.
Do you have a catalogue? We are interested in your Bobble Heads.....mainly the horror figures.
Trying to knock out and keep up-to-date a catalogue? Not happening. At least not right now.
What is though, is a fairly often updated showing of the galleries of
head knockers,
statues and
busts on display on the main site. The pages are usually scanned on the start of the week, so if in curious wonder about what's there, hit them up like a batsman on the rocks.

All these rules and notes about what kind of footprint to send in for the
Guinness World Record attempt and not a clear mention on where on the form the contact details should go. Loose step there, watch out for the grating.
K-Zone's call out for the longest line of footprints looks for an outline from pretty much everyone who picks up the magazine, and even those who don't.
There's a form to fill in and if they get enough to crack the record, everyone who's part of the line gets a certificate of anonymity for their contribution. Just remember to put the return contact details on there somewhere. Otherwise, that's one missing foot for the goal.
There's no need to buy the magazine, which is good since it'll cost to send the actual foot print in.

Between Supanova preview night and the final rush of Sunday is the wind around on Saturday. One day gone, one left to go, some more photos from the event, mainly on the food.

Homebush Bay Brewery Bistro, open on until the close of the grill at 20:00 and the table's getting ready to work out the order of ordering.

By the toilets, where Hamish Blake is ambushed for a photo or two, Patch takes out a ball in pool Pretty steep coinage requests from the machine too.

Get that into ya,
Jase!

Everybody has got a plate of some meat and salads to chew on. Most contentious issue being the size of the slice of bacon in the mixed grill. That is if you were lucky enough to even get bacon.

It's dark, but not too dark with enough light but not too much light for the lightsabers of the Star Wars fans outside to chill and hang out warming in the night.

Eagle eyes and long time visitors to the shop will remember the man on the left. Newcomers and the recent will note that Earl Hickey is on the right.

Clearly there is nothing getting in the way of waking up bleary and red-eyed after a weekend that cripples the leg from all the traipsing from one corner of Supanova to another. Frankie say relax and we move on to November 2. And with that, only a few more before the end of days of wearing the Guy Fawkes mask (as delivered by the British Freight Company) in store. Also on that week,
V for Vendetta re-orders.
With all the shelf getting an empty scan of
Criminal #1 days after release,
Criminal #2 should be following suit. Makes for fine reading when able to actually hold the comic. Otherwise it's just a case of entering a staring match against the counter. And there is only ever one winner from that.
