Finally, someone rips off the month of May from the calendar to reveal June. That's pretty late. Any hoo, June 15, and a movie about gymnastics,
Stick It, with that girl from
Our Generation/American Dreams. Looks like a nice smack in the groin from the bar.
Double the goodies in
Archie And Friends #101. So we have the Veronicas pick up the other half of their two-parter appearance from the previous issue. Add to that, Katy Keene. Whoever she is. Well, when you start picking up a comic on a gimmick...
Another half of a two-parter is
Ex Machina Special #2. Nice for those who already have the first issue of this special. That wouldn't be many though.
Much like collecting the last few issues of
Cerebus and
Bone,
Spider-Girl #99 is only one more issue away from the end of it all. After that, it'll be something like
Strangers In Paradise. That too is drawing the curtains.
And the thing about the nose relates to nothing inbetween.

Winter is really hitting its stride right about now. So cold that you can spot the air as you breathe out into the night. Or the early morning. Whatever suits the crazy half naked run around the block.

The above photo comes from the middle of August 2005 as the suits make their way home from work.
Martin Place in the city. On location for filming of a runaway car scene for
Superman Returns. Extras in the shot are shaking and shivering just chilling out with the evening session. Over on the far side, there's a truck running down with people jumping out of its way.
Damn, it's beyond cold. Imagine standing around trying to make it look like it isn't putting icicles in our veins.

Setting up in the new location of the Comic Shop edges ever closer as the days move on. It's only a matter of weeks even, a couple of months in the future. In the current situation, it'll leave a bit of space overlap between the current address and the new.
One thought is that it might be a good place for a little yo-yo meet up hang out. Or even as a huddle area for those just wanting to break out the tabletop board games. (Few as they seem to be every passing season.) CCG players wouldn't be out of sorts either.
Maybe even as a little reading area. Though that's a pretty far fetched idea when the move happens. What with nothing in the shop front and all.
Definitely not as an area for the junkies and shooters to claim as their new gallery. That's what they have Georges Serviceway around the back for. Glorious smells come from that dank and nasty section of the map.

Mixing in a handful of straight laced coffee beans between dunking heads into Red Bull*, the
OzComics 24 Hour challenge begins in earnest for the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend.
One comic from start to finish in 24 measly Earth hours. Effects of prolonged, and a day isn't really prolonged, could
drive some to the crazy bin next to the bargain books.
Take a look at
last year's winners if so inclined.
*Substitute for your adrenalin rush drug of choice. Some prefer just chewing on chili peppers for that added bleed into excitement to keep them awake. Whatever works. Whatever works.

Crazy idiot kids hitting the neighbourhood. Such evil wishes for the day that a hit-and-run takes them by the hip and crushes their ability to kick the football into the power lines. Everybody has dreams right people?
Anyhow, June 8 approaches with a few weeks away from the end of the fiscal year. Time to crack open the donation rounds.
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #9, seems this title makes months move quicker. It's like it was only last month that #7 was out on the shelf. Is this thing on?
It was
Battlestar Galactica last week and now this week it's
Star Wars: Legacy #0. Like, who can just pass up a comic that cost less than a dollar? Really? Why? These zero issues are great for samplers to a series. If they stick like honey, read on with a nice jumper into the run.

Nice work from the villain of current flavour in television and soon to be on the big screen once again. John Henry, aka Steel, again holds court with much of the issue featuring his massive presence and frame. However, despite the shiner of a switch at the end it doesn't light up the fires. Probably due to having no connect to the events surrounding the switch. Though the underlying breath of it all doesn't require much extrapolation.
