Today already feels like a Thursday, and yet the calendar insists that there will be an actual Thursday come tomorrow. 6 October to be precise, and these things usually come very close to being so. In any event, them's be cracking out the cherry soft drink at local artist,
Matt Huynh's little blow for his new comic,
Happy Birthday, Anyway.
Fell #2 is a short, get it over and done with kind of comic. It's short, it's refreshing, it costs something rare the charts on US dollars conversion. Should be as dirty as the first if things are promising to follow a trend.
Bart Simpson's Treehouse Of Horror #11 says that yes, it's that time of the American's year again. Halloween approaches and the fattest book on the Bongo Comics schedule comes at last. Tight on the squeezing of the notes though. Makes up for it though.

September 29 hits on the Thursday (but a delay puts them on October 4) and with that, so few months remain of the year. So too do the days run out that reading something printed in 2005 becomes something of a joke. At least they aren't running on hold for months on end.
Speaking of things that look like they never would be,
Captain Gravity And Power Of The Vril #6 finally comes out. The pulp action hero of the 1930s or 50s, can't quite remember. Nazis are involved though, so that's putting the decade around then. Quite the lovely art, with a story that is nothing short of fun for the period.
Ultimate Spider-Man #83 is around about, what, the fifth part in a six-parter? Moonman and those Chi boys? Last read, #80 saw Parker doubting a deal from Kingpin.
Not too sure what
Indigo Vertigo One Shot is. The hits of the 80s are ringing in the ears for some reason. Best put the Duran Duran and New Order on rest then.
Revelations #2 will most likely see Ramos draw a 40 year old looking very much like a teenager. Charlie Northern is now in the Vatican and still not getting anywhere close to cooperation from the local officials. Fantastic moody art.
Best thing about this week,
Action Philosophers Self Help For Ugly Losers. The title says it all, and if it doesn't, then pick it up and read a page to see what it's about. A page should be enough to garner some sort of read on it.

Opening at the Seymour Centre on September 22, the Australian premiere of
National Security and the Art of Taxidermy. One week later, the public gets their eyeballs on
Serenity
So then it's surprising to note that
Serenity #3 is again on the shipping list. How many can there be a need for? Any way, at least those that missed out on the first shipping half will get another chance at the conclusion of the mini.
Sonic X #1, a four-part mini that could lead into an ongoing, looks interesting. It really does. What won't be interesting is, if after reading the first issue, there's nothing there. Like that flat #150 from the regular flavoured Sonic comic.

Promotional booklets for the upcoming
Supanova convention down by Wharf 8 in Sydney are out and about. Nothing like a buffet of those science fiction stars to make it a seminal swamp meet of their autographs and another mark in their convention hitting circuits.
Also out there is some weird tail hook added to the ad for the Comic Shop. Very odd Os appearing in the print. Certainly wasn't looking like that in the PDF sent through to their printers. Where they got fat during transit and printing remains, at present, a mystery untold.

September 15 and there is nothing left in the week for that to pass. Planets will move about and do all whatever they do do. Others will have hard times finding time to read up on comics that grow every time they take to sleeping.
The first issue is all very, kick-in-the-teeth-coolness, and the last line about "You've just been recruited into a war" is so very macho. So
All Star Batman and Robin The Boy Wonder #2 should continue the theme of people walking around kicking people in the teeth, no? Or is that some other comic?
Once spotted an
Emily the Strange book somewhere in the many days and ways across the city.
Emily The Strange #1 doesn't really register as being the same Emily. Perhaps it was another Emily altogether?
On the next zombie tale coming from New Orleans, a buffet! And what timing for
Hunger #4 as the whole Louisiana location gets more and more wasted by the day. Hey, that was a good scene in the phone booth. All sweet and caring and all. And all that blood and brains to boot. Everybody's a winner.
