September 8 see a reboot of a vampire's origin, a wrap to the Firefly prequel and a concept finally hitting the shelves.
Vampirella Revelations #0 proposes yet another rescratching of the Vampirella origins. Who knows what that entails, but at the price this issue's at, here's wondering if they can stick a landing like Conan did for Dark Horse.
Now what is
Cavewoman Reloaded #1?
Ultimate Spider-Man #82 should be somewhere in the other end of the Warriors storyline. After watching Moon Knight kick Spidey in the face back in #79 (recently read that) it should be something to see where, if at all, that gets taken.
Serenity #3 wraps up the mini from Whedon. Having just read the first issue, almost feeling a tinge of regret in letting the second issue slip by. And they have back issue hunts for a reason. But the scarcity could be a problem. #1 was fun, so there's no reason why they wouldn't keep it up for the short mini.
Fell #1 finally comes out.
Ellis has been going on about this in little details through his Bad Signal mailing list. A concept comic of sorts. Looks very interesting and with the price point, enticing.

What's not to like about a sacrilegious tale of a smokin', sexin' and wrasslin' Pope? Hail thee the Pontiff unafraid to thwart demons with his own blood soaked hands. Nothing but fun and hilarity with dirty and rough-around-the-edges-looking art work.

Finally got around to reading the Whedon prequel comic to the upcoming
Serenity movie. Pretty tardy, given that the third issue of the miniseries hits the shelves this week.
And they swear in written Chinese here, with no help for those who cannot read the glyphs. Oh the coy play on censorship! A fine and rollicking kick-out-the-jams run as the Serenity crew barely make it off the world alive and poorer for their efforts. The comic has speed, energy and dollops of wit. Now, to hunt down a copy of the second issue.
Look on the horizon,
Serenity LEGO-ised.
From the Browncoats mailing list: "A special screening of Serenity followed by a Q&A with Joss has been scheduled! Screening will take place at
Hoyts Fox Entertainment Quarter (formerly Hoyts Fox Studios) on Monday September 12 Film commences at 6pm Q&A with Joss Whedon to follow at 8pm Tickets are $30 each."

Rancid move this, a throw up of a few things that are circulating the mind and doing some rounds. They don't have paper boys any more. The cars have run them all down.
The Outbursts of
Everett True, despite all over the place everywhere is still something fun to read.
Like the chunk of the wall underneath the action figures back at the shop, the Vertigo trades is rather large. Handy then the
Vertigo trades list for those who might want to see what they haven't got.
The
Kirby Museum is open.
Cartoon themes that should be a good look early in the early morning when the ISP isn't looking at the usuage on the fat pipe.
Chugging along with about and over 2000 articles to date, the
Marvel Database Project still manages to steal a lot of time. Most of it in the research and chipping away on entries that read too similar -- as in word for word -- to that of other sites. That's why they've got people going through them.

On September 1 comes the realisation that the year is pretty much done for, at least in terms of majority stakes. And with that, spring beckons.
Dirtboy #1 from Moronik Comics looks interesting in based solely on the filth of the skin and not of the content. Whether or not it's enough to warrant buying is another matter.
Having just read #520 with those HYDRA boys getting back into the scream of things, it wasn't really all that "hot" in flavour and spice. As such,
Amazing Spider-Man #523 will probably be the last issue. For a while at least.
Astonishing X-Men #12 wraps up the first year of the Whedon, Cassaday and Martin title. It's been a fun and open ride with the X-Men and that wait until they start up year two isn't too far away with other comics on hand.
Ex Machina #14, though a great read month in and month out, also falls into the same slot as
Amazing Spider-Man. It's time to shore up some new blood. Indie and minor press perhaps. Everybody experiments some time.

And so it ends for another year.
Not more than one hour into the Comic Shop's 11th annual sale and with everything released that month not on sale, space was at a premium.
Thanks to all who came along and snapped up so much stuff on discount.
