More from Metropolis

As reported on SuperHeroHype, with a note on CBR not long after, more photos posted from the location shooting of Bryan Singer's Superman Returns.
International Bank of Metropolis
Cold night snapping the air of Martin Place in Sydney. Late night filming makes the want to stay up all the more difficult. Fun is watching on. Fun is not freezing with hands too shaky to hold the camera.

Metropolis Museum

Superman Returns has been filming in Sydney for the past who knows how long now.

Martin Place, Sydney Metropolis Museum flag upcloseThey've pretty much wrapped up the location shooting in the City by the turn of yesterday.

Walking up Martin Place today, they still have about a dozen or more of the Metropolis Museum banners on those flag poles.

Something for the pool room?

Joanie Loves Chachi

Rocking in home with a spot on the podium, The Comic Shop Villains took out the bronze in the Guildford Bowling League's trivia night for 2005.

Blasting out from the start, salt and vinegar crisps mixed with a plate of Doritos and a side of Twisties (cheese). Red was the fabric bleed for the night, every table sporting their blood on their sleeves. Playing on a handicap -- every other table had eight or nine -- the seven of the Comic Shop ran into the blaze.

Massive shock in the first round. Blank stares facing the answer sheet marked in a floundering effort for equal third last. With the fresh face of possible death at the hands, the Villains cranked out the uncanny with more and more useless fragments flying from all over the place. Logic is a mess.

Ever see the Addams Family car in the driveway?
Can a woman still breast-feed after cosmetic surgery?
Haven't you ever seen a horse and donkey spoon?

Facts, trivia and other irrelevant conversation information made for the night. Loud noises only up against it all.

From the depths of the first, the slow crawl back up the ladder was made on each round. A slight misstep taken in the fifth was a nerve wrecker. Only for a round though. Rocking in all the way home on the last round, jumping over the other tables with a stellar effort, third place at the end of the eight rounds of the night.

Shooting through the breeze, spitting in the wind

In the absence of what was going to be something constructed toward a single point, general fluff sees this:

Wes Molebash and the Viper Comics people are running a You'll Have That contest for some punter to have their mug and traits feature in the webcomic.

Hayase have apparently gone "live" with their Aussie Comics wiki. Still a little bare, content comes in trickles.

Far better as it stands compared to the The Comics Wiki. All accounts show that not even the person fronting the hosting is watching. Might be a good chance to go nuts and add all sorts of stubs. At least that way they'll have some movement toward content.

Speaking of playing around, toys, toys and more toys.

Wiki wah?

Apparently, the wiki known otherwise as the Marvel Database Project has senior staff. And here without catching up regularly on the Marvel exploits. Should be interesting to see how long this position holds up with the changes in net speed.

Wiki wiki wah

In one corner, the Marvel Database Project. Featuring, naturally enough, all things Marvel. Or at least that's the wiki's intentions.

And in the other, The Comics Wiki. A more expansive take on the world of comics. Though the posting of its notice was on a Vertigo board.

Which flavour of the Wikipedia will win out? Will TCW have a hole where the Marvel submissions would be? Would the MDBP have an anorexic fit as the users move over to the other side?

Will either really know the other without a handshake?

Do you even care? Who knows!

(Currently as it stands, the MDBP has more users. How many of those are active is uncertain. Yet.)
