Serenity #1 (of 3) - Dark Horse Comics

Reviews

Finally got around to reading the Whedon prequel comic to the upcoming Serenity movie. Pretty tardy, given that the third issue of the miniseries hits the shelves this week.

And they swear in written Chinese here, with no help for those who cannot read the glyphs. Oh the coy play on censorship! A fine and rollicking kick-out-the-jams run as the Serenity crew barely make it off the world alive and poorer for their efforts. The comic has speed, energy and dollops of wit. Now, to hunt down a copy of the second issue.

Look on the horizon, Serenity LEGO-ised.

From the Browncoats mailing list: "A special screening of Serenity followed by a Q&A with Joss has been scheduled! Screening will take place at Hoyts Fox Entertainment Quarter (formerly Hoyts Fox Studios) on Monday September 12 Film commences at 6pm Q&A with Joss Whedon to follow at 8pm Tickets are $30 each."

Counterside Noise shoots trash talk, staff picks and anything else comics related and not so from the loins of the Comic Shop in Liverpool.

A place to pick up busts, statues, Simpsons toys, Transformers, T-shirts, action figures and anime as well as a place to find some storage and collecting needs.

Don't get ahead of yourself or you'll forget about the comics.

Speaking of which, wonder what's coming in this week?
