Pulsating nothings

Staff picks

With the shipment coming on July 28, nothing screams for a chance to part with the money. Nothing really different anyway.

Pulse House Of M Special edition #1 will get a look see given the pricing, cheap filler it should be. Hopefully this would be all that's needed to be kept appraised of the House of M crossover bonanza in the Marvel realm.

Does Amazing Spider-Man #522 seem as interesting as it could be? No telling what if at all.

Missed All Star Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder #1 the first time? Perhaps a chance at missing it a second time, flushing them out off the shelves like nothing's keeping them, would be in order.

Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere #2 might be good. If reading #1 was in order and done with on the few weeks back that it came out. Just in time for that Gaiman signing at Galaxy Books in the city last week. Missed that one on the bakery ticket. Art's looking nice though.

Memorial day might just be for the phantoms

Staff picks

With Memorial Day in the States, there's no telling if the comics for this week will actually ship on time. They might make it in on Thursday, 2 June, but chances are slim. In any case, shipping list has been updated, so that means an eye shall be cast.

As a Marvel Zombie under the strains of a tight wallet, House Of M #1 is both enticing and revolting. Who knows how deep the ties to other comics will actually go. Picking this up should reveal the answer. Or not. Or just blow out a few more dollars for the cause of an company-wide crossover. The likes of which have been seen a few times and a few years before. Tentative.

Two titles both from Slave Labor Graphics, Bear and Emo Boy #1 are as usual, devoid of colour. But what they lack in hues, they almost certainly make up for in interesting, offbeat stories. Though, that one about the Bag of Anteaters wasn't all that satisfying. Hopeful.

Elvira #145 might even ship this week. It didn't last week. And there was only one copy ordered. So let's see what happens in this rather weird shipping week.

Should there be any change left over from buying a train ticket, Smoke #1 could jump the barrier of those damn IDW title prices.
