Gunpowder, treason and the mask finally drops

Shop talk

Finally, with the creep into and over the date of the infamous gunpowder plot, the V mask, as seen in V for Vendetta, comes off.

Remember remember the fifth of November

Timely too given the encroaching footsteps of summer. Who knows how long it's really possible to breathe through the ears in order to keep the heated air at the front of the face relatively cool.

Thanks again to the contacts at the British Frieght Company and Roadshow Films for the masks in the first place.

V for ventilation

Shop talk

Ever since finding a box with a V for Vendetta mask inside, it's been the custom to wear the sucker all during the shift.

On a cold day things can be fine and it keeps the face warm. On a slight temperature shift, it's when the mop comes out and the need to wipe it down like a heavy dog.

V for Ventilation

And then there are times shortly after eating mustard sauce. In which case, things start to stink of a wooden face.

Mary Jane Watson wallpaper

The Multiverse

All in the Marvel Universe should by now know the true identity of Spider-Man as being that of Peter Parker. One person who knew a long, long time ago is Mary Jane Watson. Now married to the web slinger, she had much of her face behind a lampshade until the whole Gwen thing cleared up the dating stakes.

Face it, Tiger!

From Bowen Designs, made into a wallpaper. MJ slinging it cool and with Spidey's mask in her hand. Who wears the tighter clothes in their family?

Suspicious individual on George Street

Shop talk

Clearing out to closing time at the store, the section just outside the court house, library and power juice stores was blocked off. For what, who knows. A band of yoyos were spinning their tricks and missing opportunities in telling passers-by all sorts of tales and stories.

Clocking off for the day under the mask (dripping a little as it were), V for Verisimilitude the temptation to run over and ask the police cops what the deal was soon snapped back into sense. Running toward the police in this mask?

V For Vendetta looks to be drawing its season at the box office to a close. Looking over the session times at the cinema down in Westfields, there are none. George Street, however, are up with the goods and still showing a few more days at least. Probably enough for a week.

When V's gone, a good chance that working behind the counter will be without a mask. In time then for the next big comic book movies, X-Men 3: The Last Stand and Superman Returns.

Faces and places at all them strange bases

Shop talk

Work now is on the sourcing of faces, masks and logos to be blown up large for the new store location.

One with plenty of windows and wall space for the slap of the posters and logo emblems mighty huge for the bat signal down into George Street of Liverpool.

Idea on working with a mural set up sketchy, a deal on the overlapping one figure in the line up. A cavalcade of faces, or of biceps and ankles, no solid picture comes to mind.

Looking to locals for the handiwork is out of the question at the moment. And likely out for the run.
