Black Canary mini bust - Women of the DC Universe - designed by Adam Hughes - sculpted by Jack Mathews - DC Direct
Pitch up them vocal chords, squeeze the cheeks and belt one out. Scream, yell and holla back at the top of your lungs. Or cheat and make it sound like you are.
Sculpted by Jack Mathews from designs by Adam Hughes, this Black Canary
mini bust is part of the "Women of he DC Universe 2" line-up from DC Direct. Comes with bustesque silence as the heroine is poised in a pose of a screaming power punch.
Black Canary can bleed your ears. And there are 3 simple tricks in doing the same.
- Grab an ear - No doubt, the closer you are to the person, the louder you will sound to them. Grabbing one of their ears and talking directly down the hole of wax leaves you sounding a whole lot louder and brings them that little closer to deafness.
- Be an arrogant tourist - Simple rules when visiting a foreign country. If locals can't understand you at first, talk a little slower and a little louder. Makes having to know what the local language is completely moot. Have people think you're an arrogant oil warfaring tourist and you'll come off as loud and abrasive with no trouble at all.
- Talk in the shower - With or without clothes on, all those tiles will echo and reverberate your voice to the point where it picks up at least a level. Leaving the taps off and not flushing helps tremendously too.
Got any tips on making a big sound?

Batman by Jim Lee black and white statue - sculpted by Eric Sosa - DC Direct
"It's not all black and white. There's shades of grey inbetween."
Ah, the one line (or variants of) that appears so often in cop dramas and other moral issue films. Heard it once, never want to hear it again. Sticks out? Sure does. Why wouldn't it with a box of crayons over on the side just wanting to mix it in and play on that board. Won't play in Gotham City though. That's where Batman calls the shots. And if colour is out, colour is out.
Jim Lee's version of Batman, as seen in this photo, is sculpted by Eric Sosa as part of the "Batman Black & White"
line of Batman statues from DC Direct.
Clear as yellow snow and with no colour in it, it's just like a movie about a cop with metal plate in his head and Billy Madison to blame. Or, like a black and white comic, with grey tones to mark out not so white and not so black areas.
Batman works in black and white. Crushing the hopes and hearts of criminals is all the colour he needs in his life. (And maybe a young teen bounching about alongside in brightly coloured clothes for good measure.)

Mr Bean wacky wobbler - From Funko
Pinto beans, green beans, jelly beans, franks and beans. All sorts of beans. And then there's Mr Bean.
Rowan Atkinson in his other role outside of Black Adder and as an incarnation of
The Doctor.
No much to say about Mr Bean given that he himself has not much to say. Often going through life with all the luck of a four leaf clover walking around with a rabbit's foot. All the luck to the clover, none to the three-legged rabbit bopping about in some burrow.
Asking Mr. Bean for his thoughts on what Christmas is all about and what it means to him is hard fought. So don't bother. Instead, just pop down to the local pirate ships and hook up with seasons worth of
Black Adder and be done with it. That's Christmas right there done and sorted.
(Yes, Atkinson has been in such fine fare including
Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually and
Johnny English but that's for another segment for some other day. Willing.)

Black Summer #1 (of 7); written by Warren Ellis with art by Juan Jose Ryp
Suck the air out of a Coke bottle and leave it hanging on your face. Watch as the skin renders a red mark when you pull it away. Kind of get the same kind of feeling when you sleep on a coin for a bit. Wouldn't try it with a gun though. That's just a little too much like Russian Roulette.
This summer, the world goes black as Warren Ellis unveils his all-new super-powered heroes and villains epic that promises to be the biggest event of 2007! With art by the genius Juan Jose Ryp, no fan of The Authority or Wanted will want to miss this bleeding-edge eight issue masterpiece.
When the political situation in the USA becomes more than Horus can stand, he moves to take matters into his own hands. But since not all his other team-mates aren’t so eager to throw the world into chaos, an epic conflict starts to form. And no one will be safe as the bodies start to fall.
Black Summer #1 from Avatar Press

Annihilation: Conquest - Starlord and Rocket Racoon is playing in the mix.
Warren Ellis and Ivan Rodriguez meet up with

Two sides to fight and with mink and Paolo Parente at the brink, it's nothing but
Dust at the end. Sci-fi and history in the wars to world the weary. Plus zombies!
Christopher E. Long and Ryan Winn scout out those in the witness protection program all over history in
Hiding In Time. Contracts are out and it's time to go through the streams looking for those who turn states evidence and take them out. Of time and of existence. Three times the charm.
David Tischman and Steve Conley go for a joyride in the Starship Enterprise for
Star Trek: Year Four. Boldly going where the original series didn't quite make it in its original airing.
Marshmallows wrapped in cheese slices with dipping sauce of boysenberry jam. Tastes good and that's just food of a run amok combination.
Top Cow/Marvel Unholy Union by Ron Marz and Michael Broussard slams all sorts of creatures from both universes into a mayhem that is like the Monster Mash where everybody is wearing a piece of food from their face on the one plate.
Stark is still missing and Christos Gage and Butch Guice run the ground along World War Hulk in
