One of Marvel's sometimes overlooked comic book hero. Lawyer by day and Super hero by night in Hell's kitchen. Although he copes with blindness, he has heightened senses far beyond any human being. The man without fear continues to be a strong and likable character.

Daredevil was recently voted the best continuing or limited series and also Ed Brubaker was voted best writer for the book in this years 20th Harvey Awards. Former writers of DD include: Frank Miller (Sin City), Kevin Smith (Clerks), Bob Gale (Back to the Future) and Brian Michael Bendis. Daredevil was created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett (with Jack Kirby) in 1964.

DVD of the Month

Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme. Pretty much the best animated movie so far to come out of Marvel Animated Features. Starting from the beginning of Dr Strange's tale, where he was a gifted surgeon, being in an accident that damaged his surgical hands, searching for a cure and then becoming the Sorcerer Supreme. Four out of five spuds!

 

As Rufferto sits atop his master's noggin, staying ahead and keeping that winning edge in their game of hide-n-seek -- or hide-and-seek for those with a stronger affection for conjunctions -- it offers a chance to ponder possible movies starring the Wanderer.

A Room with A Groo - A couple visit a small barbaric town. There they find that although accomodation is scarce, at least there is a man in a loin cloth at each of the few huts they are shown.

Be Groo - Everyone is looking for the next big chunk of lamb to roast on the spit.

Groo Hand Luke - Groo is sent to a fat camp, where he gets a reputation as an overeater. The head of the gang hates him, and tries to break him by out-thinking him. It doesn't work, and he scores a headache. His mother dies, and he escapes, but is caught, escapes again, and is caught again. But where is Rufferto?

 

Authorities investigating their investigations into the baffling investigation of the engorged heads recently cornered a purple tunic wearing man in relation to the case. Brandishing a silver dull gourd of fluid mass, the man, who appears to be affecting a wizard like garb, was taken by surprise as the local arresting force descended upon his mid-weekly laundry service errand. Refusing to give in with ease, the man was noted to have taken a swig of his mysterious gourd before rambling and speaking in tongues, "Groo" being one of the words shouted.

Found on his person were passport-sized photos of people who have recently come under a most distressing condition. A condition wherein their heads amass to a disproportionately large size compared to the rest of their bodies. The resultant state a cause for much ridicule and misread signs as their heads bobble back and forth in a jerky manner. Those that have fallen victim have been derisively labelled "head knockers" in the public air space.

Cases with a magical element are rare. The investigators in the situation believe that the wizard in question holds at least one related answer to that of the large headed people. Their fixation on his Bob Hope-like chin a large factor in their fancy.
