Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite #1 is finally here for all My Chemical Romance fans. Fans of music and comics are now combined. Gerald Way makes his comic writing debut through Dark Horse Comics. Let's see how his take on super heroes will turn out, hopefully if it's like his music, it should be something to look forward to.

Once, the Umbrella Academy was unstoppable. Under the tutelage of their guardian and mentor, Dr. Reginald Hargreeves, its members spent their childhoods fighting evil and honing their extraordinary gifts.

Until something went terribly wrong.

Now, nine years later, the estranged members of the Umbrella Academy are reunited by the death of the only parent they've ever known and the rise of a new and terrible threat. Will they be able to overcome their history for long enough to save the world-one more time?

Created and written by Gerard Way (singer of My Chemical Romance), Umbrella Academy features interior art by Eisner Award-nominated artist Gabriel Ba (De:Tales), colours by Eisner Award-winning colourist Dave Stewart, and covers by multiple-Eisner Award-winning painter James Jean (Fables).

Other Comics To Keep An Eye Out This Week;

From IDW Publishing, 30 Days of Night: Beyond Barrow #1 created by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith. Targeted at horror and vampire fans. This series is written by Steve Niles himself and art by Bill Sienkiewicz. Find out the buzz in the comics before the movie hits theatres , due out in Australia 8th November 2007 (watch me).

DC Showcases; JLA/Hitman #1 (of 2) mini, written by the Garth Ennis (co-creator) and pencils by John McCrea (other co-creator). Tommy and the JLA team-up for some fast pace action. Hitman is back people!

DVD Of The Month

Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme. Pretty much the best animated movie so far to come out of Marvel Animated Features. Four out of five spuds!
