Kitty Pryde mini bust with Lockheed - Bowen Designs - sculpted by Jim Maddox
That little dragon what hangs with Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) of the X-Men is known as Lockheed. A purple alien from another world fetching the fine looks of other over the shoulder companions.
Captain Flint on the other hand, is the name of the parrot of Long John Silver. Complete with carpenters for prosthetists, they of the world from Treasure Island. Pirates and treasure and booty crows with no phones involved.
Not everyone's cut out or comfortable having a creature hover over their shoulders, reading their newspapers, smelling their hair or carving up a notch or two deep in the skin and muscle.
Dragons breathe fire and brimstone. Lockheed seems to be a slight bit empathic. Parrots spout wise cracks with a limited repertoire of curses and profanity in for the mix. Captain Flint might not be a Norwegian Blue but it's not unlikely to be in the same kind of refundable state.
Other options besides tiny dragons and foul-mouthed parrots are out there. Such as cats with cheesy grins and chips for those angry at the world.

World War Hulk #1 (Of 5); written by Greg Pak, pencils by John Romita Jr., cover by David Finch
Paint the body green and go out on a sugar rush, it's like drinking red cordial made green all day long. Watch out for the fibre intake to move things along. Results may vary.
Marvel's massive summer smashfest begins! Exiled by a group of Marvel "heroes" to the savage alien planet of Sakaar, the Hulk raged, bled and conquered through the pages of last year's "Planet Hulk" epic, rising from slave to gladiator to king.
Now the Hulk returns to Earth to wreak his terrible vengeance on Iron Man, Reed Richards, Dr. Strange and Black Bolt -- and anyone else who gets in his way. Stronger than ever, accompanied by his monstrous Warbound gladiator allies, and possessed by the fiercest and purest rage imaginable, the Hulk may just tear this stupid planet in half.
The epic story of anger unbound begins with this special double-sized issue written by "Planet Hulk" scribe Greg Pak and penciled by the legendary John Romita, Jr.
World War Hulk #1 (of 5) from Marvel Comics
Speaking of those in exile, it's the FF's very young son in
Franklin Richards: World Be Warned. Chris Eliopoulous and Marc Sumerak baby sit the precocious son of a genius looking to escape the confines of his room and wreck havoc.
Back it up a crack, Alan Martin and Ashley Wood crank a shank with
Tank Girl: The Gifting. New look and yet the haphazard jump around style of old in four.
Brian Pulido and Gabriel Guzman are ringside on the battle of the barely there costumed heriones with
Lady Death vs Pandora. Kick, push.
Kurt Busiek, Jeph Loeb, Moritat, Stuart Immonen and Ian Churchill slam it down on the TV line catching
Elephantmen - The Pilot. Snap a shot at one in the can and the door needs paper hinges.
Everything old is retooled and slightly new again in
Avengers Classics. Stan Lee, Dwayne McDuffie, Kevin Maguire, Mike Avon Oeming and Jack Kirby squeeze it in through the pages of the old.
Swimming six laps with those green scale trunks with
Sub-Mariner. Matt Cherniss and Philippe Briones sniff out the culprit of what looks to point the splashdown on a crack down of a terrorist attack on an Atlantean slant.
Six wheels on the car and Larry Young and Jon Proctor drive on with
Black Diamond. So this is what happens when paranoia shoots down all the planes from flying?
Five slings on a blade with
The Amory Wars from Claudio Sanchez and Gus Vasquez. Heard of that music beast known as Coheed and Cambria? Yeah, take a look at their adventures here as they feature in the sci-fi.
Mark Kidwell nudges on a four step of horror and gore in
Bump. Out from the grave and on to the world out there!
Oh so many pirates littering the gutters and streets these days. Six pence for the richer as Roy Thomas and Mario Gully adapt the work of Robert Louis Stevenson in
Marvel Illustrated: Treasure Island. Now... where is all the rum gone?

Captain Jack Sparrow 12 inch - Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest action figure - NECA - sculpted by Dave Cortes
Arrr ya ready for the scourge of the seas to float the banks on September 19? Ya should be, that be tha day to talk like a pirate.
Internationally speaking of course.
Recent fare on the silver screens would have
Captain Jack Sparrow as the leader in lexicon. Teacher of the uncut tongue of the high seas fare. Follow the drummer and watch the plank from underneath, the wood moves fast, the tap dancing dogs faster.
Other pirates on the day might look at their Bit Torrent and other peer-to-peer networks for lingo on the swapping of their
booty and gold doubloons. Doesn't matter how or where, it's the day of the pirate to show up full fare.
How the tide flows, or where the grog goes, it's a chance to smartly scrub up the sheets and swig a jug for the day to talk and ride the seas like pirate beast.
Savvy?

Davy Jones - Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest action figures - NECA Toys
Davy Jones, owner of that famous underwater locker so many overboard and lost sailors and pirates visit before their deaths.
Jones also happens to be the villain in the sequel,
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), it seems, made a deal and now the one with a beard of tentacles has come to collect on the debt.
And what of that monstrous beauty that is his beard? A flowing and dangling series of tentacles like last week's dive into the seafood buffet.
Tougher to take care of than a head full of dreadlocks, it's quite possible that one major point in care is making sure the tentacles don't dry out. Drying out is bad for normal hair. When you take partially living limbs in consideration, it's a vital message to massage.
And making sure other people don't go biting the beard is another.
