Better than read in the land of dead

There's Frank Cho's Zombie King (laying out the extra special love for the bovine members of the cattle community). There's Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead where the mail never gets delivered. Speakeasy even have a compassionate zombie of sorts in The Hunger. Simon Pegg's Shaun of the Dead, a rom-com-zom, spoofing that classic Dawn of the Dead.

Speaking of which, there's that classic father of the modern zombie era, George Romero.

Presenting a special five-part adaptation of George Romero's long-awaited zombie movie, set years in the future after the end of his Dead trilogy.

In Land of the Dead the walking dead roam an uninhabited wasteland and the living try to lead "normal" lives behind the walls of a fortified city. A new society has been built by a handful of enterprising, ruthless opportunists, who live in the towers of a skyscraper, high above the hard-scrabble existence on the streets below.

But outside the city walls, an army of the dead is evolving. Inside, anarchy is on the rise.

With the very survival of the city at stake, a group of hardened mercenaries is called into action to protect the living from an army of the dead.

Naturally, in a world overrun -- and possibly under the rule of -- zombies, service can be quite slow. What with the preoccupation with eating brains and guts and blood and oh my! Priorities, undead people, priorities!

Battle Pope, getting the job done over other Popes

Don't look for any other papal puncher, especially when Battle Pope is around. More the fighter than any previous Pope, this Pontiff knows how to smite the right back into the demons and sinners of the world.

When he's not leadin' mass, he's out kickin' ass! After the Rapture the sole protector of the sinning masses is Battle Pope, and his trusty sidekick, Jesus. They're the last line of defense in a world overrun with demons and depravity.

When praying for a miracle to come and send that boat in the biblical flood, why bother with any of those currently installed in the Vatican City. Ask yourself, "What has Pope Benedict XVI done for me lately?"

Lest the talking of the voices in the head ring clear, the answer will be swimming in a resounding silence.
